Greensburg Sportsman's club Control Burn

The team was asked to assist Greensburg Sportsman's club with a control burn. The team used this opportunity as a training detail and as an opportunity to test our equipment along with working side by side with our firefighters. The team assisted with fire control and mop up. Responding agencies: Team 211, Norvelt Fire Dept, Mount Pleasant VFD,and Hecla VFD, Mutual VFD.

This morning members attended a traffic detail and the final send off for Chief Jerry Lucia. A very nice tribute for a man that was respected and loved by so many.Our thoughts will continue to be with our brothers and sisters at Mt Pleasant in the days ahead.

This weekend the Team assisted Ligonier Boro Police and the Fort Ligonier Days Committee with traffic control, crowd control and multiply other task throughout the weekend. Thanks to all of our members who participated in the event we had a great showing.

We participated in the 2018 Hempfield Twp. Fire Prevention Show held at the Sears parking lot at Westmoreland Mall. The team setup a display of equipment with an atv's, wildland fire fighting equipment and drones.

We participated in the 2018 Westmoreland County Air Show in Latrobe. The team was responsible for transporting handicapped people to and from the show. The team assisted with water delivery, handi-cap shuttle, road blocks along with emergency and non-emergency tasks at the request of APRA.

The Team was asked to help with the fireworks detail at Lynch Field. The team provided lighting for patrons along with securing the trails and blast zone for the fireworks show.

The team participated in the 2017 Arnold Palmer Regional Airport Disaster Drill in Latrobe. Fire and EMS agencies from across Westmoreland County attended the drill for a mock plane crash.Team members transported over 40 people from the drill to different parts of the airport for mock treatment.

Demo at Keystone State Park. Great crowd and event. Lots of tables with information and activities for the whole family. 4 bears were present and leaking how they care checked and tagged. Team 211 did a water demo for kids.

This past weekend we had 8 members complete the S-130/S-190 Wildland Fire course. Crews spent the day hiking in the forest, creating a fire line, and checking for spot fires. These members gave up multiple weekends to completre this training.
